In 2015, The New Europa Journal watched the NASA/JPL New Horizons spacecraft travel 33AU to Pluto. Watch the New Horizons National Space Society Video here.
In 2016, the Journal shifted its focus to artistry, and that focus continues.
In 2017 we looked at teams. How they work together and how they handle change.
From 2018 until recently, the Journal fell quiet. During this time there was deepening, growing and learning. Reading books. Meeting people. Travelling, looking forward and looking back.
Now it’s 2025, and the world is dealing with conflicts, the rise of generative AI and geopolitical uncertainty.
As always, The New Europa Journal explores fresh ideas and developments in life on Earth, the environment and humanity.

Why is it called The New Europa Journal?
Europa is a reference to Jupiter’s moon Europa, as well as Earth’s terrestrial continent Europe. In addition, it’s a hopeful nod toward a human future where life is free and abundant in our galaxy and in all places in the universe. Interestingly, in 2010: Odessy Two, a science fiction novel by Arthur C. Clarke, a spaceship computer called HAL warns the humans onboard: ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS—EXCEPT EUROPA, ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE.
